Laura brings a range of skills and experience to the Board from her 40-year career working and volunteering in the 3rd sector. Starting off as an organiser in a volunteer centre, Laura then spent many years working as a volunteer manager and trainer with Oxfam in Scotland before moving into the policy and research teams at Volunteer Development Scotland (now Volunteer Scotland). Latterly she was Project Coordinator with Stanley Development Trust where she helped to set up a  time bank, a volunteer befriending service and a lunch club for older people in the village.


Laura retired in 2021 and is delighted to spend some of her spare time serving as Secretary to the Board of Timebanking Scotland. She looks forward to working with Timebanking Scotland’s members helping them to get the most from their membership by encouraging the sharing of skills, knowledge, resources and practice. Also, to raise the profile of timebanks in Scotland and the important contribution they make towards individual and community resilience.
