In the past James worked for the Careers Service. Seven years ago he moved jobs and took up the position as a coordinator with Broughty Ferry Timebank. The task then was to establish a new Timebank in the community. Seven years on and the Broughty Ferry Timebank is still going strong. It not only covers the community in Broughty Ferry, but the entire city of Dundee. There are nearly 130 members of Broughty Ferry Timebank, which consists of individuals and community organisations.
Around four years ago James was instrumental in setting up the Scottish Network of Timebanks, which has now successfully transitioned into the charity known as Timebanking Scotland. James was delighted to be nominated as the chairman of this essential new charity that will cover the whole of Scotland. Along with the other dedicated board members of Timebanking Scotland James will work hard to see the birth of community Timebanks across Scotland.
